Please post any problems you have with the plugin. There have been a couple people posted comments and sent messages about linux and mac problems but we don't have a error log to see what's happening. If you can please describe your problem and attach the log file or paste the contents into your post. The best way is to use http://www.pastebin.com and paste the contents of your error log and place a link to the code here. You can find your error log in the root of xbmc folder.

Having some trouble getting this working with 9.04 final release under Windows. Well, actually can't get it working at all

I assume the thing goes in 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\XBMC\plugins\Programs' if I'm using the normal 'per profile' config storage?

Having done this, where should I find the new option? There is no Programs in the Home screen of XBMC. If I navigate to the script using XBMC File Manager, I get an error when trying to run it.

Found the solution... The default skin hides 'Programs' from the main menu. Going into Settings->Skin Settings>Show 'Programs' on home screen did the trick. Installer now works - thanks!

Good stuff, the shortcut path for that on Windows is:

%APPDATA%\XBMC\plugins\programs

We have discussed this before, with the next batch of changes (whatever those would be), I will also look into allowing the plugin to update itself.

Depending on spare time, I might do that sooner, but no plans just yet...

You should've read the wiki page more carefully, we need a debug log and you can paste that at pastebin.com.

Anyways, from the log it looks like your XBOX is not configured correctly for DNS lookups, check your Settings > Network Settings, probably best to use DHCP to get the network settings from the router (if you have one) or even check the network cable is pluged in in the xbox (look at the network card lights on the back of the xbox).
